Angels put Moseley, not Figgins, on DL

May 4th, 2008, 11:39 am · Post a Comment · posted by Al Balderas, staff writer

The Angels placed right-handed pitcher Dustin Moseley on the disabled list Sunday and recalled infielder Sean Rodriguez from Tiple-A Salt Lake City.

Moseley was DL’d becuase of stiffness in his right forearm.

Chone Figgins, who injured his hamstring in the eighth inning of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, will be re-evaluated on Monday but said he was feeling a lot better.

Figgins said he injured himself when he slid into home plate on Saturday. He slid wide of the plate to successfull avoid the tag of catcher Ramon Hernandez but ended up sliding into home plate umpire Paul Emmel.

“It’s not pulled,” Figgins said of his left hamstring. “It’s just a slight strain.”

Figgins said that it’s not the first time he’s collided with an umpire while sliding into home plate this season.

Figgins will not play today. Rodriguez, who got to Angel Stadium at about 11 a.m., will start at second base.
