No-hitter alert — Angels-Sox scoreless

May 13th, 2008, 8:15 pm · Post a Comment · posted by BILL PLUNKETT, OCREGISTER.COM

Angels starter Jered Weaver has not allowed a hit through the first four innings against the White Sox. Weaver has retired 12 of the 14 hitters he has faced, walking two and striking out five.

Weaver seems to be throwing harder than he has in recent starts — though it’s hard to tell if it’s him or the radar gun here at Angel Stadium. One cautionary note — Weaver has already thrown 72 pitches to get through the first four innings.

The Angels have just three hits against White Sox starter John Danks but they have had a runner in scoring position in three of the first four innings (for naught).
