The Angels jumped on Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz in the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead.
Casey Kotchman started the rally with a one-out double in short left center field, the ball eluding a diving Jacoby Ellsbury. Macier Izturis then doubled down the right field line to drive in a run and he later scored on a single to left by Vladimir Guerrero.
Torii Hunter then walked, ending a 12-pitch at-bat that started with the center fielder in a 0-2 hole and included seven foul balls. And Garret Anderson singled to right to drive in the Angels’ third run.
Did someone tell the Angels the game is one inning? They must have. After the first Lackey started getting slacky. And the offense went to sleepy. This game already stinky. And we lead 3-2 but I don’t like what I see.
Something has got to be done about Chone Figgins. This isn’t the Figgins we saw last year. If he’s going to play every day he better produce. If not give third base to Maicer Izturis and short to Aybar.
