Someone might want to point out to Santana this isn’t the real Indians team from his pass. I don’t see a single hitter in that lineup who can hurt him. Stop pitching like a coward Ervin.

And get Matthews out of the game. I heard he’s playing to see if he can help the Angels. I think we all saw the answer is no. He can’t run a ball down for an easy out and he can’t even hit a Paul Byrd special. Stop messing with Juan rivera. Put Matthews on the DL if you want to experiment. send him on a rehab assignment where he can mess up another team’s games.

  • Brian says:

Someone get a clue on the Angels. They’re doing nothing but weakly flying out. If you can’t hit the ball out just bloop them into shallow outfield. That shouldn’t be hard. I’m sick of watching weak batting practice. Paul Byrd stinks this year but this offense seems to stink more. I think it’s time to start having some blowouts already. Wake up Angels. This game is pathetic. Ervin looks like 2007 Ervin Santana scared of the Injuns and this offense can’t hit anything. Get Juan Rivera in the game so he can show you how to hit.

  • Brian says:

Welcome back 2007 Santana. This is sorry pitching. Mike butcher should be lecturing Ervin on the mound. He isn’t pitching like an All-Star. He’s pitching like a rookie. How about a nice 1-2-3 inning already. Stop going back to horrible bad habits. We should be getting win #6 tonight but this team looks like they could care less about these games so we’ll probably get swept. I see Texas is doing well in Chicago. In fact, they won 6-1. Get going Angels. Get a huge rally going and if Matthews comes up take him out for Juan rivera. no, just take him out now.

This isn’t how you manage a team when you want to pull away in your division. Mike scioscia is already going into cruise control like we won the AL West. Well I have news for him, it’s July.

  • Brian says:

What a joke. We have two horrible hitters protecting one of our best hitters. Can Howie steal third and home?

  • Brian says:

Somene please stop the nonsense. Casey just pounded the first pitch but it just ended up an out. Byrd’s garbage isn’t going to be hit for homers like Santana’s fastballs. They need to do what Howie did last inning and bloop the balls all over the field. Does anyone in the dugout understand how to hit a junkballer like Byrd?

  • Brian says:

Is there such as a thing as the three year DL? Maybe Matthews could go there? This guy is doing nothing but ruin our game. He’s messing up an offense that was starting to click. This isn’t what a championship team does. You don’t sit back and act like you have no problems. You play every game to win like you’re five games behind the division leader. This reminds me of Scioscia last September when he wouldn’t kick it into kill mode and get home field advantage. that killed the Angels. He wanted to rest the players and look at what good that did.

  • Brian says:

Chone Figgins is the slowest speedy runner I’ve ever seen. Shame on you Figgins for ruining the rally. Aybar, in the game. Izturis to third. Figgins and Matthews to the bench. This team isn’t going to win if failure isn’t dealt with.

  • Brian says:

Leave it to Mike Scioscia to ruin something that was starting to click. The best thing that happened to the offense was benching Matthews for Juan Rivera. I think this game shows the problem this team has had the first half. Gary matthews, Jr. is dead weight. If Arte is smart he’ll do whatever he can to get rid of him. Or tell him to go on the DL. That’s the best way he can help this team.

  • Brian says:

At least Howie cares. Nice homer. I wish everyone else in this lineup would hit like him. I say he’s turning into the best hitter on the team. The second best has to be Casey Kotchman.

  • Brian says:

Hey, lookey. Darren O’Day just had a 1-2-3 inning. Is that the first from our pitchers tonight? Why was he left until the 8th? I’d use O’Day way before I’d use Speier. Speier should only pitch as a last resort. In huge blowout games. I say put Speier and Matthews on the DL. Call up the best Triple A pitcher we have. Speier isn’t used that much. Someone down in Salt Lake should be able to pitch at least a little better and not give up a homer every inning they pitch.

  • Brian says:

What a sorry job by the umps in the 9th. Horrible strikezone and Casey robbed twice. These guys just want to go and eat I guess. More sorry umpiring. What’s new. If you get paid to do a full nine innings do it right.
