  Torii Hunter hit a two-run double into the gap in left center field - which became just a little bit wider when Yankees’ left fielder Johnny Damon went crashing into the wall in pursuit of the baseball.

  Scoring on the play were Mark Teixeira and Vladimir Guerrero, who had reached base on a fielder’s choice and a single to center field against former La Quinta High and USC right-hander Ian Kennedy.

  Damon, who had a run-in with the wall at Fenway Park a little while back, hit the wall so hard it jarred the gate in it open.

  After one inning, the Angels lead 2-0.
