
Reggie Willits, who suffered a concussion in a home plate collision on Friday in the Angels’ victory over the Yankees, has been put on the 15-day disabled list.
It was the second concussion Willits has suffered in the past a week, having also taken a shot to the head chasing a fly ball In New York last weekend.
”He has the same effect he had last week,” Manager Mike Scioscia said. ”The medical staff doesn’t want to take any chances with him and make sure he clears this thing.”
Rodriguez has been up a couple of times in the past month, though his stays were very brief.
This is his fifth stint with the Angels this season. He was hitting .306 with 19 doubles, 21 home runs and 52 RBI in 66 games at Triple-A Salt Lake.
