Willits in holding pattern

August 24th, 2008, 6:30 pm · 1 Comment · posted by Al Balderas, staff writer

Reggie Willits was at Angel Stadium on Sunday but the Angels chose to keep him on the 15-day disabled list for at least one more day.
Willits was eligible to come off of the disabled list on Sunday and appeared ready to come off as well but the Angels had a pressing need for an extra pitcher instead.
Jason Bulger joined the team on Sunday after being promoted from Triple-A, Salt Lake.
“He’ll get re-evaluated but he’s eligible and he feels good,” Scioscia said. “I’m sure we’re going to get him in in the next day or two but right now we’re looking at letting some of our pitching reset.
“He’s played a lot this week so a day or two won’t be anything to set him back.”
Scioscia didn’t want to use Darren Oliver or Shane Loux in Sunday’s game because both pitchers threw 3 2/3 innings of relief through the first three games of the series against the Twins. As it turned out, he didn’t need to. Jose Arrendondo and Francisco Rodriguez threw one inning each, helping the rest of the bullpen catch its breath.

I don;t know if anyone noticed the Twins starting pitcher today
sunday…..But everytime he got ready to pitch, he raised the brow of his cap and wiped his forehead with his pitching fingers and not his sleeve like all other players do. this was happening on the mound..
isn’t that all most the same as throwing a spit ball.
its no wonder he has 2 complete game shutouts..
Maybe I am wrong but I don’t think so, since I pitched in little and pony league play…
