September callups — Angels add three

DETROIT — The Angels added three players to their roster as September callups — pitchers Dustin Moseley and Darren O’Day and catcher Ryan Budde.

More additions are likely after the Salt Lake Bees’ playoff run. For now, the Angels add two players who started the season with them (Moseley and O’Day) and another who was promoted briefly each of the past two seasons (Budde).dustin-moseley.jpg

Moseley was 1-3 with a 7.15  ERA for the Angels early this season including 1-2 in five starts before John Lackey came off the disabled list. He didn’t fare so well with regular work at Triple-A Salt Lake, going 7-10 with a 6.94 ERA.

O’Day was 0-1 with a 4.34 ERA in 27 games for the Angels and 2-2 with a 3.27 ERA in 21 games at Triple-A.

Budde is 3 for 20 during his big-league callups last season and this. A solid defensive catcher, he batted only .202 in 48 Triple-A games this season.
