Salt Lake was eliminated from the Pacific Coast League playoffs Saturday so the Angels will add three more players from that team – infielders Matt Brown and Freddy Sandoval and catcher Bobby Wilson. All three will join the Angels in Anaheim on Monday.
In order to add Sandoval to their 40-man roster, the Angels released right-hander Jeff Kennard. Kennard, 27, was acquired from the New York Yankees last July in exchange for veteran backup catcher Jose Molina. Kennard went 4-3 with a 6.55 ERA in 42 appearances at Triple-A this season where opposing batters hit .306 against him.
