Yankees might be the front-runner for Teixeira

Mark TeixeiraDes Martini, of examiner.com thinks the Angels have a 7-1 shot of keeping Mark Teixeira beyond this season. That doesn’t make them the favorite.
Some of the other teams he thinks will be participating in the upcoming Teixeira sweepstakes include the Yankees (2-1), Orioles (3-1), Mariners (16-1), and Giants (17-1).
I don’t know how Martini came up with those odds but he did a good job at explaining why those teams are in the running. You can check out his thoughts on the Teixeira pursuit.
Martini explained that Teixeira should be a high-priority signing by the Angels because “he is younger, healthier, and more productive than (Vladimir) Guerrero and (Garret) Anderson, and a better defender.”
He also touches on the effect Scott Boras (Teixeira’s agent) will have on the offseason proceedings.
