Moreno has eyes on bigger prize

Arte Moreno should be getting used to this by now.
Moreno stood on the field Wednesday afternoon as the team celebrated its fourth division title in the six seasons since he became owner, soaking it up – and soaked in champagne.
“I’m just so happy for the fans and the players – maybe not in that order,” he said. “I’m happy for Mike (Scioscia) and Tony (Reagins) and everyone on their staffs and everyone in the organization.
“We were up there watching (the decisive Mariners-Rangers game) and we had secretaries in there and operations people. Everybody was just coming in and we had a nice cake there. … It’s nice to do it (clinch) at home. You get to see the fans enjoy it.”
Moreno hesitated to say whether he feels this year’s team has a better chance to go all the way than his previous playoff teams.
“Every year, I feel better,” he said. “I’m one of those people that is always looking forward.
“We all know what happened yesterday. Tell me what might happen tomorrow.”
Moreno had that forward-looking viewpoint in mind when he talked to the team in spring training, he said.
“I told them, ‘I want some jewelry,’” he said, referring to the championship ring that goes to the World Series winners.

Geez Brandy, give the guy a break. With the exception of Mike Scioscia, he’s probably the best thing that’s happened to the Angels in the 20 plus years I’ve been a fan. Name any other time in their history where they’ve won a division title 4 out of 5 years. And while you’re at it, name a major league park that has free parking or is cleaner than Angels stadium. And ticket prices are high for any professional sporting event these days. Bought a ticket to a Lakers game lately?
Really, Brandy? Have you been to Dodger Stadium? In fact, have you been to any other venue for a moderately successful team? Our ticket prices are lower and our stadium is nicer than any of them, and free parking? Are you kidding?
Congratulations to Arte and the California Angels for flying over their first hurtle… We all have our eyes on the bigger prize… Seeing Arte & the Angels getting their rings…Go get um,… game by game!
brandy doesn’t really seem much of a fan w/ all the crap hes been talking? So brandy when you say “we fans” what do you mean? I love running into other angels fans who know what they are talking about, all you do is go around typing negative disrespective things about this team. for arte and scioscia to get a team like this together is amazing, and the best they have had in Angels history so how about you keep those pessimistic opinions to yourself debbie downer. Brandies new nick name should be debbie downer, or negative nancy or colonostopy
Good for Arte, now if, only the Angels can win the whole thing and knock the lakers of the air
