Giambi an option?

Jason Giambi’s days with the New York Yankees are coming to a close - or could be, since the club has not ruled out bringing him back and a greatly reduced rate.
But if they don’t re-sign Giambi, the New York Post came up with some interesting destinations for the first baseman/designated hitter, who has had an interesting stay in the Bronx. The Angels were one of those destinations, providing Mark Teixeira finds his free agent riches elsewhere. Kendry Morales already is in the picture, but he hasn’t exactly bombed the ball all over the yard at the major league level.

Wow, did you guys hear Angels announcer Rex Hudler during Tuesday night’s game? He was talking a ton of trash against about Seattle. Makes me wonder if old Rex is still bitter about the 1995 Angels team, which he was a player on, who had the AL West wrapped up—a six game lead on September 12th, then lost 9 games in a row and lost the division to Seattle in a one-game playoff, 9-1! MAN, THAT HAS GOTTA HURT! Poor Rex, all he will ever be remembered for is playing on one of the worst Angels teams of all time! And here Rex is, 13 years later, still bleeding from the injury…HA!!
This has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve read in a while. Arte made it very clear in his answers about Bonds and his frustration with Sarge Jr. that he doesn’t want anything to do with steroid tainted players if he can help it. Moreover, the team has a big investment in Morales. He hasn’t been spectacular in the Bigs but we all know he also hasn’t had a real chance yet either. First he was behind Kotch and now Teix. Morales is the back up if Teix signs elsewhere. Not the Giambiznatch.
Is that a Seattle fan SERIOUSLY still talking about 1995? My god man get over it. Is that all you and your team has to talk about for the last 13 years? Good luck with that.
The Angels need to sport the money for Tiex,,,, that all there is too it! They will save money when Frankie leave for free agency. I think Tiex is a far better investment than Frankie Rodriguez will ever be by far!
i agree with the posted comments about giambi not being a good fit with the angels. i hope moreno sticks to his guns. unfortunately, i wish arte would have dumped “crack pipe rex” hudler. he is the worst color commentator in all baseball. love the angels, but you’d think the angels were perrenial ws winners, and never stumbled or knew a down turn. come rex, you’re a shameless hopped up homer.
If the Angels sign Giambi, id burn every piece Angels memorabilia I own, and become a Dodgers fan.
No Dave Vasquez, it was a complaint about Angels announcer Rex Hudler’s trash talk during Tuesday night’s game. Try to follow along. The connection was, Rex obviously still has a bad taste in his mouth whenever he goes to Seattle, because he was part of the 1995 that collapsed and humilated Angels fans everywhere. Todd I know that your really Grant and Brandy. Just because you change your name every week doesn’t mean you can get away with trashing our teams. If the Angels get Giambi then Tony Reagins should be fired. His career is over and he obviously cheated by taking steroids. If only the Angels could have got Teixeira for Morales and kept Kotchman in case he didn’t sign.
Rex Hudler was a mediocre player and now he is a mediocre color man. Anybody remember the Dodgers old color man Jerry Doggett? Boy was he awfull. Worse than Hudler. Such a contrast to the greatness of Vinnie.
Why are you telling us how great the Dodgers announcers are compared to the Angels? Last time I checked this was an Angels blog. Btw I think that Rex is a great announcer. He brings a real lifeness to the games.
The Dodgers are a world famous team. Nobody knows the Angels outside of Orange County. All blogs belong to the Dodgers.
