There was plenty of blame to go around after last night’s 4-1 ALDS loss to Boston in the opening game of the best-of-five series. But who cost the Angels most?

  • Rod Cantrell says:

Boston have what I thing is a unfair advantage, the have the best scouting reports avalible comming from

Jerry Stevenson is in my opion the reason the angels can’t get it going.
Since the strike he has been with Boston. Look at what they have done since then. He was before the strike the main scout for the Dodgers. He lives in the area and scout from here. He probably knows the flaws in the Angels hitting better the the Angels and is feeding the Boston pitchers the info.

  • OC Sports fan says:

YOU FORGOT TO ADD MATTHEWS TO THE POLL IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!! HE IS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE.

  • David says:

GMJ sucks and Mike couldnt wait to get him back in the lineup, Add Mike to the list of idiots.

  • Allen Richard says:

Lackey and Scioscia could be added to that list.

Lackey - made the biggest mistake of the game, and made a lot mistakes early that just happened to not leave the ball park.

Scioscia - Leaving Scot Shields in to start the 9th. Letting him face Big Papi. Not pinch running Willits for Vlad in the 8th. Not pinch hitting for Aybar in the 9th. Inserting GMJ in the lineup. Continuing to bat Anderson 2nd, when the guy should be driving in runs … not setting the table due to the ineptitude of Figgins in the #1 spot.

  • Allen Richard says:

Oh yeah, you also left out vlad failing with risp and 1 out in the 1st inning. Then looking like he was going to cry in the dugout late in the game. Him and Figgins are HORRIBLE big game players. No discipline!

  • Allen Richard says:

You also fail to mention Howie was batting with risp and 2 outs each time. Big difference batting with 2 outs as opposed to 1. Howie hit the ball harder than Tori did all night, and Howie didn’t even make good contact. Tori & Vlad, both failed miserably with risp on 1st pitches. They are the run producers right? Making 10+ million? Howie isn’t to blame, and at least waited for a pitch, instead of jumping like a rookie at the first pitch thrown.

  • Mark says:

Rod, why is that an unfair advantage? Because the guys does his job and does it well? Stop whining, you Rex Hudler wannabe. But that’s not why I’m here…just wanted to point out that like Vlade and Frankie Rodriguez, the Angels team as a whole also made history last night—FOR LOSING 10 CONSECUTIVE PLAYOFF GAMES TO THE BOSTON RED SOX!!! Way to go, Halos, you’re in the history book!!! :)

  • AngleFan says:

Vlad is getting old and senile. He should be traded after the season.

I concur %110 with OC Sports fan’s comment on Mathews. The guy is worthless in the playoffs…and is WAY overpriced. Trade him too after the season.
