The Boston Globe says the Red Sox have some interest in trading for Jake Peavy, but no discussions between Boston and San Diego have taken place. Peavy is thought to be unwilling to go to an American League team in a trade, but his agent says he would probably agree to go to Boston.

Meaningless stat of the day: Jake Peavy’s ERA against Boston for his career is 5.40, the second-highest ERA of any team he’s faced. His best ERA against a team is the 0.00 mark against Tampa Bay. And, yes, both figures represent just one start.
