The city of Anaheim will have to live with a hometown baseball team named Los Angeles, reports the Orange County Register’s Sarah Tully:
“The 4th District Court of Appeal ruled late Friday against the city of Anaheim, which has been fighting to overturn the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim name for nearly four years.”
What do you think?
Why stop at L.A.? They’ve already been California. The Halos should try to become America’s team. WIth the precedent in court of one name holding up, the next one could too! America Angels has tremendous marketing appeal.
This should have never been fought in court. The name change makes Moreno a dispicable Anaheim/OC hater and an owner who is by all means NOT FAN FRIENDLY, not a law breaker. From here on, Anaheim should just collect the rent and that’s it. Pretend The Angels don’t even exist, and give all the royal treatment to The Anaheim Ducks, The Anaheim Arsenal, and The Orange County Flyers, that teams which are proud to represent Anaheim/OC. The Register should cut back their coverage of The Angels Games by about 75%, giving the royal treatment to the teams which proudly represent The OC, even the minor league teams. Let The LA Times cover The Angels.
I like the LA name. Its the historic name of the Pacific Coast League team. The Anaheim name was only there for a few years (and hideous uniforms). California would be a good compromise.
