Yahoo! Sports’ Tim Brown reports all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman has a one-year contract offer plus an option year from the Dodgers, who cut ties with Takashi Saito after last season.
Hoffman, 41, who grew up in Anaheim and has spent most of his major-league career with the San Diego Padres, is also talking to the Milwaukee Brewers, Brown reports.
Hoffman’s older brother Glenn, the Padres’ third-base coach, played infield for both the Angels and the Dodgers and also managed the Dodgers.
Trevor Hoffman recorded 30 saves in 2008 to run his record total to 554. He made $7.5 million last season. The Padres initially offered Hoffman about a $5 million deal for ‘09 then withdrew it, and don’t seem to care the Dodgers and Brewers are closing in on one of their most popular players.

If the Padres did own “Hell’s Bells” I’m sure they’d sell it for $1.
