ANAHEIM
That “little bit of stiffness” that took Darren Oliver out of the running for another spot start? It’s serious enough for the Angels to place him on the disabled list with a strained left triceps.
The Angels added Oliver to their DL following Wednesday’s game, clearing a roster spot for Thursday’s emergency starter Matt Palmer.
Oliver becomes the seventh Angels player and sixth pitcher on the DL.
The list — Oliver (strained left triceps), Dustin Moseley (elbow irritation), John Lackey (strained forearm), Ervin Santana (sprained elbow ligament), Kelvim Escobar (shoulder surgery), Kevin Jepsen (lower back spasms) and Vladimir Guerrero (torn pectoral muscle).

You might want to start wearing a helmet, maybe some pads, if you’re going to spend much time around the team, Bill. I hope our insurance policies are up to date.
Just in … Bill Plunkett goes on the DL with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
At least the last two to go on the DL have been relievers. Ironic that we’ve lost so many starters yet our starters lead the league in ERA while we’ve had the pen that was planned on and they have the highest ERA in the league.
It’s gotta get better. It can’t get any worse. Can it?
Knock on wood. No pun intended.
Actually, Stephen — I had a bout with carpal tunnel over the winter.
But I’m making good progress in my flat-ground work.
Will we see you next week at extended spring training on a rehab assignment? Perhaps reporting Lackey’s and Santana’s rehab assignments?
Actually, I’ll be extended for the April 27-29 games so maybe I will get to see them. Video on FutureAngels.com if it happens …
