Three Angels prospects — infielder Brandon Wood, outfielder Terry Evans and pitcher Jeremy Hill — have been named to the PCL All-Star team for the annual PCL vs. International League All-Star Game scheduled for July 15 in Portland, Oregon.
The much-discussed Wood is batting .302 with 15 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs and 45 RBI in 60 games for Triple-A Salt Lake.
Evans missed much of last season with a shoulder injury. In his first 75 games this season, he’s batting .291 with 17 home runs, 54 RBI and a team-leading 16 stolen bases.
Hill, a 31-year-old reliever, is 1-3 with a 4.01 ERA and 16 saves. Hill has bounced around with the Royals and Mets, getting to the majors briefly with the Royals in 2002 and 2003.
Meanwhile, infielder Matt Brown was placed on the disabled list by Salt Lake with a left elbow injury. Brown tore up the PCL last season but this year he is hitting only .216 in 68 games with 10 home runs and 44 RBI.
