Not really sure what an “Executive Representative” is. But the Angels announced this afternoon that Hall of Famer Rod Carew was rejoining the organization in that capacity.

Exec. representative Rod Carew
The official press release didn’t shed much light on it, saying only that Carew will “assist management at the executive level, as well as work with the club’s Media Relations, Community Relations, Marketing and Sponsorship Departments as needed. ”
Though he served as the team’s hitting coach from 1992 through 1999, Carew is not joining the front office in a personnel or talent-evaluation role.
“Though he has remained a part of this organization for many years, it’s a pleasure to have him join us once again in an official capacity,” team president Dennis Kuhl said in the press release. “While Rod’s accomplishments during his distinguished career have been well-documented, the difference he has made in our community and with youngsters, both in the United States and abroad, has been dynamic. We are looking forward to utilizing his services throughout the year.”
Excellent news. You can’t have too many Hall of Fame players in an organization, as far as I am concerned.
Nice to see the Angels and this class act Carew teammates again.
Just another example of Arte Moreno doing the right thing.
Wish thet had done “the right thing” for GA!
