While looking for something else yesterday, I found a fan poll at espn.com’s SportsNation that has 56 percent of the country backing the Angels to win the AL West.

The Texas Rangers were next at 31 percent, followed by the Seattle Mariners at 11 percent and the Oakland Athletics at 3 percent — no wonder they’re not making that “Moneyball” movie.

I know these things aren’t scientific and everything, but I found it interesting the fourth state that went red for the Rangers.

Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas all made sense … but New Hampshire?

There’s also a considerable pocket of Mariners fans in Wyoming. Who knew?

As for “Moneyball” the movie, my belief behind the delay is that Brad Pitt can’t find a way to cast Angelina Jolie.

It’s just a theory, but if I didn’t throw it out there, I would have had to find a boring picture for this post.
