The Rockies have acquired Rafael Betancourt from the Indians in exchange for a Single-A pitcher according to the Denver Post. That scratches one of the Angels’ potential solutions to a lack of bullpen depth.
Reports indicate the Baltimore Orioles are asking for a premium prospect plus another player in exchange for lefty George Sherrill. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Jayson Stark reports the Angels have been scouting Cy Young winner Cliff Lee.
Hmmm…
and betancourt was traded for ONE single-A pitcher.
good thing we couldn’t pull that one off…
I would have liked to see the Angels try for Betancourt. I would have liked to have him more than Sherrill. IDK, just something about having three lefties come out of the bullpen at the end of the game. A righty would be a nice fit in between.
I would love to see the Angels make a play for Lee. Maybe an offer of O’Sullivan, Reckling, S. Rodriguez and Trumbo or Matt Sweeney would entice the Indians.
Ynnad back at his trolling tricks. Must be nice to sit at home in the basement, ignore mom’s calls that dinner is ready, collect unemployment and get paid to troll here.
Gammons has said the Indians are going to be asking for a lot. Certainly that is less than Halladay, but what are you willing to pay for a guy that has a WHIP around 1.30?
Personally, I’d give up a lot more for Halladay than I would for Lee.
A lot more.
Lee has a great contract, through next year. He’s a big improvement over what the Halos have. Just a matter of what Cleveland wants. If it’s more than just one prime prospect, I don’t think it happens. Plus, the Dodgers and others want Lee, too.
