To make room for Joe Saunders on the 25-man roster, the Angels designated reliever Shane Loux for assignment late Tuesday. Loux was 2-3 with a 5.83 ERA. He had allowed 18 hits in his last three outings (over six innings).

The team has 10 days to trade, release or demote Loux. He would have to accept a min0r-league assignment.
