Call it the Macy’s jinx. From PhillyTalk (via Deadspin), we get the latest act of accidental retail hubris:

“Somehow Macy’s is running a near full page ad in today’s paper promoting shirts for the Phillies being back to back world series champs.” In huge letters, the ad says: “Congratulations, Phillies! Back-to-back champs”

A week ago, in the middle of the ALCS, MLB.com was briefly offering AL Champion merchandise for both the Yankees and the Angels. Anybody try to order a premature Angels jersey? What happened to your order?

“By order of the National Football League, those items are never to appear on television or on eBay. They are never even to be seen on American soil.
