It was nice of the Angels to reassure their fans that they, too, would like to have Roy Halladay, but they’re just another face in the shopping line.
The Red Sox have the prospects to get Halladay and a willingness to spend the money to sign him, and they are also playing the PR game with their fan base.
One Red Sox prospect that I saw in the Arizona Fall League should be pretty close to untouchable. He’s a Cuban shortstop named Jose Iglesias who can sing “For All The Runs I’ve Saved Before” while turning the double play.
I loved steve and rex!!! I used to complain to my husband when
they weren’t announcing. They will be greatly missed.
another bad move.
I’ve been following the Angels since they were on 44th & Avalon. Listening to Rex Hudler was an embarrassment. He only inflamed my hemorrhoids to the point I had to have them removed. I could have been an Angels fan if it weren’t for him. Maybe he was happy being a homer, but if that was the case he should have been calling the games in the minors, not the major league. Once I was in a bar in Newport Beach & Vladimir hit a home run & Rex says “That’s what good hitters do. They wait for their pitch.” Everybody in the bar was laughing, even the waitress because they knew Vladimir swings at anything!!! That shows you that Rex is a big time homer, or completely incompetent as an announcer. I miss the days of Buddy Blatner & Don Wells.
I’m skeptical. I think the Red Sox will hang onto Kelly.
